January 27, St. Louis:    Known by most Auxiliarists, the National organization is divided into three distinct areas; Pacific, Atlantic-West and Atlantic-East. The chain of communication in each of those areas is headed by a Deputy National Commodore (DNACO).

The DNACO chairs the meeting that is attended by the area’s District Commodores (DCO) and often the District Chiefs of Staff (DCOS). This type of meeting is held at various times and locations throughout the year, they are generally known as National Area Planning Meetings (NAPM).

Because of its central location, St. Louis, NTrain is a logical location for one of these NAPM. The DCOs have an opportunity to hear the latest information from the DNACO concerning their area of responsibility and have an opportunity to discuss and comment on that information.

NAPM is also a time for face-to-face communication to share localized problems and ideas, extremely beneficial for the day-to-day District leadership.

As was noted at the OPCOM meeting, only two of the sixteen DCOs were in the second year of their administration. This was an opportunity for the fourteen "freshman" DCOs to meet having recently been installed into their office. The NAPM is also an opportunity to reminisce about the prior training classes they shared and renew old friendships.
